Thunder not booming in New Hamburg

The Caledonia Thunder came out flat and ended even flatter. With only 6 shots for and 26 against, the Thunder played a sub par game. Although the game was 2-1 for New Hamburg until the 3rd period, Caledonia couldn't get their skates moving when they needed too and had a defensive collapse in the last 5 mins, that saw the Huskies score 3 goals to make the final 5-1. The lone Thunder goal came from Nolan Putt. The Thunder will have to forget the loss and move on so they can finish strong in the remaining two Southern County games vs. Waterford Tuesday and Cayuga on Sunday. I'm sure Coach Mike Roloson will have the team back on track and ready to kick some butt....Thunder Style!

Tight Game 1 Victory in the first round vs. New Hamburg

On Tuesday night Caledonia and New Hamburg got the first round of the O.M.H.A. playoffs under way in a tight hard fought match. By the looks of the first game this is going to be a great series. Richard Goodwin scored the games only goal on a beautiful deke. The Thunder's goalie Austin Pont was spectacular in the third period and shut the door on New Hamburg to earn a playoff shutout! Caledonia lead the series 1-0.

Player of the game honours went to Austin Pont and Owen Brunell.

Caledonia face Chedoke in a exhibition tune up game on Saturday and are in New Hamburg on Sunday.

Dunnville Fire and Ice Finalists...The Caledonia Thunder!

Well it's been a while since the last post due to some unforeseen technical problems. Hope everyone had a great Holiday Season. The Novice reps finished off 2005 in style by getting to the Championship game during the Dunnville, Fire and Ice tournament. Although the Thunder played a strong game in the final they came up just short with score being 4-2 for Wallaceburg. It was one the grittiest performances the Thunder have put forth. Tough play, great passing and stellar goaltending made for a fine tournament. Way to go Thunder! Whoa!!!

2006...With a practice, the Father & Son classic and party this Saturday, it is going to be a funfilled day for sure. On Tuesday Jan 10, the Thunder start the OMHA playoff vs. New Hamburg. The full schedule is below.
